Thieves are very welcoming of the murky winter months as they believe it gives them a better opportunity to break into people’s homes without being collared, much more so than in broad daylight.
It’s logical thinking on their part, but you can steal a march on them by strengthening security at home now, something that National Home Security Month tries to communicate to UK householders.
Running throughout October, this annual initiative provide homeowners with various hints and tips on how they can accomplish it, and Amber Home Improvements has the inside track on some of them:
If you have been living in your home for a decade or more and have never replaced your windows and doors, it’s unlikely they will still have their original resilience and probably have a very basic locking system.
