How To Haunt The Neighbours With Your Home This Halloween

How To Haunt The Neighbours With Your Home This Halloween

Halloween always has a crafty habit of sneaking up on us and there isn’t much longer to go now until the year’s spookiest day arrives.

How are you planning to devilishly decorate your house for the occasion?

Pumpkins are a must, and you can get some great stencils for carving them with the kids. But if that’s a bit too cliché for your liking, Amber has some other scarily good ideas of what you could do to put the frighteners up people.

Create A Bewitching Entrance

Pretend that a witch has taken up residence in your house by putting a broomstick outside of your front door, with a pair of witch-like shoes on the door mat.

To add to the fun, buy a sign that says “free flying lessons” or “potions on sale” and have it displayed on the wall next to the door.

This will all tie-in beautifully with the release of Hocus Pocus 2 on Disney+ in the last weeks, a real clever bit of witchcraft on your part.

Add Wicked Window Stickers

Leave the trick-or-treaters spooked with stickers on your windows of scary spiders, spooky skeletons and wonderfully waggish witches.

If you think that might totally scare them off, be a little less sinister and apply some Casper the friendly ghost stickers instead, which can be bought from Amazon.

Display Some Haunting Messages

With a light box, you could come up with all sorts of Halloween-themed messages, such as “Bat got your tongue?” or “Don’t be a scaredy-cat”.

Change them each day and put the light box in the main window so that your messages glow and send a shiver down people’s spines.

Don’t pack it away once Halloween is over. Put it to use in the run-up to Christmas by creating a countdown to the festive period.
