French doors
Given the name ‘French’ name because of their origination in the period of the French renaissance, this perfect pair of doors have long glazed sections in them that can be plain or decorative, and you can ask that they open inwardly or outwardly.
You often find them in continental residences, but they have become a popular choice of door in Britain too, and it’s their elegant and efficient nature that’s behind that.
Patio doors
Most of us have come across patio doors at some point and are aware that they work via a sliding motion, rather than opening in or out.
A 2-pane design is what’s typically chosen by customers, but you can have 3 or 4 panes if you have the length of wall space to accommodate such a size.
Old-style patio doors have quite chunky framework, but your modern UPVC or aluminium patio door has a slim profile, giving you more glass and with it, a better view.
Bi-folding doors
At present, it’s the bi-folding door that’s the most on-trend feature door to have. It has that all-important ‘wow’ factor both in how it looks and how it functions.
You end up transfixed as you watch the door neatly fold like a concertina as it gets opened, which it does whether it has 2-panes or the maximum of 7.
